A Las Vegas Theatre Is Screening AI-Made Anime During Race Week, and Entries Close on 10 November

Prometheus Productions wants AI-enhanced anime shorts and music videos for a Las Vegas screening on 20 November. Prizes are screenings and laurels, not cash, and entry costs money.

A theatre in Las Vegas has set aside part of Race Week for anime made with AI, and it is taking submissions for another eight days. Prometheus Productions is programming a screening of AI-driven shorts, music videos and experimental anime films at ThridStreet Theater, with the festival date listed as 20 November 2026.

The pitch is narrow and clear. If your film is anime, uses AI tools somewhere in the production process, and runs between two and thirty minutes, you can send it in. Official selections get shown on a real screen in front of a Las Vegas audience, which is more than most AI film contests can offer. The deadline on the official listing is 10 November 2026, and no cutoff time is published, so plan to submit with a day in hand.

What you submit

The call is for AI-enhanced anime in three forms: short films, music videos and experimental pieces. Runtime must fall between 2 and 30 minutes. Any AI tool is allowed, and the listing names Midjourney, Runway and Suno as examples, which covers image, video and music generation. The condition is that the AI tools you used must be identifiable and licensed, so keep a note of what you used and on which plan.

Entry is open worldwide. Submissions go through FilmFreeway on the official entry page. Submissions opened on 5 October 2026, so the window is five weeks in total.

Prize structure

This is a screening-and-recognition contest, not a cash one. Nobody is advertising a prize pot, so budget accordingly.

Official selections receive three things. First, a screening in Las Vegas during Race Week in November 2026. Second, a digital laurel titled 'Anime in the Dawn of AI' to use in your own promotion. Third, a Featured Artist slot at future Prometheus Productions events across the US in 2026, though the page gives no detail on what that slot involves or how it is awarded.

Three named awards sit on top: Best AI in Anime, Best AI Anime Music Video and Best Character Design. The page does not say what the awards themselves consist of beyond the recognition.

Terms worth reading

Entry is not free. The page says entries are paid through FilmFreeway and are non-refundable. The listing does not state the fee, so check the FilmFreeway page before you commit. Note that a free-entry badge appears at the top of the aggregator listing, but the entry details further down say paid, and the paid line is the one that matches how FilmFreeway contests normally work. Treat it as paid until the entry page tells you otherwise.

The listing also does not summarise the rights terms, such as any licence you grant for screening, promotion or online use. Those will be in the FilmFreeway rules, and they are worth reading before you pay, particularly the wording around the Featured Artist slot and any use of your film in marketing.

The listing also leaves two practical questions open: whether you need to attend in person, and whether travel is covered. Assume it is not until the organisers say so.

One timing note. With the deadline on 10 November and the screening on 20 November, the gap is short, so the organisers will be selecting quickly. If your film is finished, submit early. If it is not, a two-minute music video is the most realistic thing to complete in eight days.
