Unhindered Studios opens ClubHouse, where the public can invest in film

A new platform inside Unhindered's newly launched website lets anyone pitch a film idea, vote on which ones get made, and back the ones they believe in.

Unhindered Studios has launched ClubHouse, a community platform built into its new website at unhindered.ai. It runs on a simple mechanism: members submit film ideas, the community votes on them, and the ideas with the strongest support move forward to funding.

Joining is free, and so is submitting an idea. Voting decides which pitches get taken further. Once a film moves to funding, members can back it directly, and backing carries a reward attached to it: a credit on the finished film, a character built around the backer, or a tier that carries a share of the film's profits.

The idea sits underneath everything else Unhindered has built: audiences already decide what spreads by watching, sharing and copying it, and ClubHouse gives that same audience a say before a film is made. It's the same audience that took the Stranger Things videos to over 103 million views across only eight videos, and the same one behind Dripwarts, the studio's original series, which passed 250 million views in first week of release and holds the top spot in its category on IMDb. ClubHouse is a bet that the people who already decide what gets watched can be brought in earlier, to decide what gets made in the first place.

"Every film starts with someone who has an idea and no way to make it happen," said co-founder Kamran Sankey. "ClubHouse is us trying to close that gap. If enough people believe in your idea, you get a real shot at seeing it made, and a share in what it becomes."
