Tencent Cloud Is Paying SGD 2,000 for an AI Short Film, and Entries Close on 30 October
Tencent Cloud and GenTube are offering SGD 2,000 cash plus 2,000 GenTube credits for the best AI-made film. Entries close 30 October 2026 at 23:59 SGT.
A filmmaker with no crew, no camera and no budget can still finish a short film in eleven days. That is the premise behind the Tencent Cloud "AI CAN DO IT" Film & Creative Challenge 2026, and with the submission deadline on 30 October, the window is already narrow.
The challenge is co-hosted by Tencent Cloud and GenTube, and it asks entrants to make an AI-powered film on a single theme: a future where AI overcomes seemingly impossible problems and changes lives. The best film wins SGD 2,000 in cash, and the top two films are shown at Tencent Cloud Day Singapore at Marina Bay Sands on 3 November. The challenge opened on 15 October, so anyone starting now has roughly eleven days to finish.
What you submit
You submit an AI-made film. The announcement does not state a minimum or maximum running time, a file format or a required resolution, so check those details on the registration page before you start rendering. The brief points entrants to three tools: GenTube Creator, which is powered by Tencent Cloud WAND, and Miora. The post does not say whether other tools are allowed, so confirm that before building a film around software outside that list.
The creative brief is the theme itself. Films should imagine AI breaking barriers and solving problems that look out of reach today. That leaves room for documentary-style speculation, drama, animation or satire, as long as the central idea is something AI makes possible.
The route to entry has two steps. Register for the hackathon at tinyurl.com/AIGCHackathonSG, then upload your film through the submission page. The official announcement is on Tencent Cloud's X account.
Prize structure
The grand prize is SGD 2,000 in cash plus 2,000 GenTube credits for the winning film. The cash is real money. The credits are only usable on the GenTube platform, so value them accordingly.
The top two films are featured at Tencent Cloud Day Singapore on 3 November. The post describes this as a showcase and awards ceremony, and it does not say whether the second-placed film receives a cash prize. On the page, only the grand prize carries a cash figure.
Every eligible submission receives a Certificate of Participation. That is a certificate, not a prize.
There were also onboarding perks. Registering at miora.design before 15 October earned 1,000 free Miora credits, and the first 50 registered participants were offered 300 free GenTube credits. Both of those cut-offs have passed or may already be filled, so do not count on them.

Terms worth reading
The announcement is a social media post, not a full rulebook, and it says nothing about entry fees, eligibility, ownership of the finished film or the licence you grant the hosts. Those gaps matter. Because the winning films will be shown publicly at a Tencent Cloud event, read the registration page for what rights the organisers take over displayed work, and whether the film can be shared elsewhere afterwards. The post also does not say whether entrants must live in Singapore or can enter from abroad, so check eligibility before you invest time.
Nothing in the post says that entry costs money. The free credits suggest the tools are accessible at no charge during the challenge, but confirm any usage limits when you register.
Before you enter
The deadline is 30 October at 23:59 SGT. No upload-time guidance is published, so submit with a day in hand in case of upload problems. Register first, read the full terms, then plan a film you can realistically finish in the time left.
