Higgsfield Cinema Studio 4 is live, and it now runs directly inside ChatGPT
Higgsfield has launched Cinema Studio 4 with 30-plus camera presets, a lighting console, colour grading, and an acting emotion system, while simultaneously dropping a ChatGPT plugin that puts Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, and three production skills inside the chat window.
Two announcements from Higgsfield landed within hours of each other on 12 August, and together they shift something real for working AI filmmakers. The first is Cinema Studio 4, a production suite update that reads less like a feature patch and more like a genuine rethink of what an AI director's interface should feel like. The second is the Higgsfield Plugin going live inside the ChatGPT app, collapsing a workflow that previously required three or four browser tabs into a single conversation.
Cinema Studio 4 arrives with more than 30 new camera movement presets, a two-source Video Lighting Console, 50-plus colour grading palettes, and what Higgsfield is calling an Acting Console: six emotions, each available at three intensity levels. That last feature is the one worth pausing on. Getting a consistent emotional register across a generated scene has been one of the persistent frustrations of AI video, where prompts like "sad" or "intense" produce unpredictable results. Structured sliders for both the emotion type and its intensity give directors a repeatable handle on performance, rather than prompting by feel and hoping.
The update also adds Video Extend with forward, bridge, and backward generation, which means you can now push a shot in either temporal direction from an arbitrary midpoint. Scene-level editing within a single generation is new too, as is upgraded camera, lens, and aperture control. For collaborative work, new asset management rounds out the set. Taken together, Cinema Studio 4 is building the vocabulary of a conventional film production pipeline inside a generative tool.
The ChatGPT plugin changes the room
At the same time, @higgsfield confirmed that the Higgsfield Plugin is now live inside the ChatGPT desktop and web app. From inside the chat, you can generate with Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedream 5.0 Pro, GPT Image 2.0, and Kling 3.0, with no API key required and no prompt-copying between windows. @ChrisGPT noted the same on 12 August, flagging the quality-of-life gain of having generation sit natively in the same place as ideation and scriptwriting.
The Faceless Channel, Narrator, and Subtitles skills are already live inside the plugin. Those three cover a meaningful slice of what solo content creators actually need: a channel that doesn't require an on-camera presenter, voiceover, and finished subtitles. That these come pre-loaded rather than as a later add-on suggests Higgsfield is thinking about the plugin as a production environment, not a demo.
What has not been said
No pricing change was announced alongside Cinema Studio 4. Higgsfield has not confirmed whether the new camera and lighting features carry additional credit costs or sit within existing subscription tiers. The acting console description lists six emotions but does not name them, so the range of available moods is currently unknown until users get inside it.
The ChatGPT plugin is live now, but it is worth noting that ChatGPT plugin availability varies by account type. OpenAI's own restrictions around which plans can access third-party plugins mean not every user will find this available immediately. No official compatibility list has been published by either Higgsfield or OpenAI at the time of writing.
LTX-2.5 also announced on 11 August, positioning itself as an open-source foundation model for film and robotics workflows with multishot scene coherence. That is a different architectural bet to Higgsfield's closed, interface-led approach, and the two are worth watching as contrasting philosophies playing out in the same week.
What to test first
If you are already a Higgsfield user, the Acting Console is the feature to reach for first. Set the same scene at emotion intensity level one and level three and compare. That test will tell you quickly whether the system produces meaningfully different results or whether the labels are cosmetic. The Video Extend backward mode is the second priority: the ability to generate what happened before a shot opens up reverse-engineering of scenes that were generated forward, which is a genuine workflow unlock for continuity work.
For anyone who runs ideation and scripting inside ChatGPT, the plugin removes a real friction point. Generating a reference clip without leaving the window where you built the brief is a small change that compounds across a project. Try it on a shot you would normally have spent three tab-switches getting to.
